Le Musée Rodin achète une sculpture de Louis Mathet
20/8/19 - Acquisition - Paris, Musée Rodin - Les marbres de Rodin furent parfois critiqués parce qu’il en sculpta peu lui-même. En effet, il faisait appel à des praticiens pour reproduire certaines de ses œuvres et répondre ainsi aux nombreuses commandes. Parmi ces praticiens, Louis Mathet travailla dans son atelier entre 1893 et 1910, puis entre 1916 et 1918. Il tailla notamment La Petite fée des eaux, La Tempête, Paolo et Francesca dans les nuages, Psyché-Pomone, Le Secret, ou encore Lady Warwick.
