Une console de Lannuier rejoint les collections du Metropolitan

17/10/18 - Acquisition - New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art - Le Parisien Charles-Honoré Lannuier (1779-1819) et l’Écossais Duncan Phyfe (1768 - 1854) furent les deux grands ébénistes de New-York au tout début du XIXe siècle. Lannuier arriva aux États-Unis en 1803 et fournit à toute la bonne société des meubles de styles Directoire, Consulat et Empire, qu’il sut alléger pour mieux répondre au goût américain. Il apporta avec lui des recueils de modèles, notamment de Percier et Fontaine, dans lesquels il puisa abondamment.
