Un tableau de Louis Anquetin entre au Van Gogh Museum

31/5/10 - Acquisition - Amsterdam, Van Gogh Museum - A la pointe de la modernité picturale, proche de l’art de Toulouse-Lautrec, de Van Gogh et de Gauguin, Louis Anquetin effectua vers 1894 une révolution conservatrice, retournant à une peinture d’histoire décorative influencée par les maîtres anciens. Ce virage stylistique qu’il poursuivit jusqu’à la fin de sa vie lui vaut aujourd’hui une notoriété moins grande que celle de ses amis peintres.
