Un Ary Scheffer en dation pour le Louvre

6/5/13 - Acquisition - Paris, Musée du Louvre - Grâce à une dation, le Musée du Louvre vient de s’enrichir d’un superbe tableau d’Ary Scheffer, représentant Ruth et Noémi (ill. 1). Ce panneau conserve encore son très beau cadre d’origine [1] où l’on peut lire des citations extraites du livre de Ruth [2] qui explicitent le sujet, c’est-à-dire le moment où Ruth, après la mort de son mari Malchon, décide de suivre à Bethléem sa belle-mère Noémie.
