30/3/13 - Exposition - Londres, The National Gallery - Comme le Louvre, la National Gallery de Londres s’intéresse à l’art américain, longtemps mal connu en Europe. Après avoir montré George Bellows en 2011, elle expose aujourd’hui, à nouveau en collaboration avec la Terrra Foundation et dans un accrochage réduit (un peu moins d’une trentaine d’œuvres réunies dans une salle), des esquisses à l’huile de Frederic Edwin Church. On découvre ainsi un aspect moins connu de l’œuvre d’un peintre surtout réputé pour ses paysages de grand format. Un excellent catalogue…
