Two research dissertations are currently being prepared on the painter Henri-Léopold Lévy (1840 - 1904). Please find below the information requests of the two students concerned:
- As a student in Master 1 Art History at the École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE), I am looking for all the works of Henri-Léopold Lévy (1840-1904), whatever the subject represented or the medium, paintings, drawings or studies. I would like to build up a corpus of the painter’s work in the context of my research, in which I am more specifically interested in his representations of biblical scenes, and in particular his painting Samson et Dalila (1899).
Any information concerning his private life, or letters or archives are also welcome.
Please contact me at the following address

I assure you of my discretion.
Thanking you in advance for your help,
Manon TURPIN.
- I am a student at Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, doing my thesis on Henri Léopold Lévy (1840-1904), a great painter who has unfortunately been forgotten.
In fact, there is a huge lack of information about his life and works and that is why I am posting this ad.
If you know anything about his life or his works, or if you know his descendants, I invite you to contact me by this mail:

You could be of great help to me and I am open to any information.
Thank you very much,
Manon Pellitteri
