07/02/19 - Disparition - Irving Lavin, historien de l’art américain internationalement reconnu, est décédé le 3 février à l’âge de 91 ans. Il était professeur émérite de la School of Historical Studies de l’Institute for Advanced Study de Princeton où il enseigna de 1973 à 2001. Spécialiste de la Renaissance (Donatello, Michel Ange, Pisanello, Pontormo) et du baroque (Caravage et Le Bernin tout particulièrement) italiens, ses publications révèlent une gamme bien plus large de sujets, de l’architecture de l’antiquité tardive et du haut Moyen Age au XXe siècle (Pablo Picasso et Jackson Pollock).
